Mediatoolkit offers the possibility of connecting your organization with your Instagram, Twitter, and Slack accounts.

  • Instagram and Twitter integration is required for tracking those two social media platforms.

To set up integrations, simply click on Settings and then Integrations.

After that, a window like the one pictured below will appear.

Slack integration

By clicking on Add to Slack your Mediatoolkit account will connect to your Slack Account. That way you’ll be able to receive alerts to your Slack account if you choose that option while setting up alerts.

If you want to connect two Slack accounts, simply click allow and your accounts will be connected.

Twitter integration

It’s possible to connect your Twitter and Mediatoolkit accounts. We suggest using this option in order to improve your Twitter monitoring and results.

  • The important thing to note is that this will not let us post anything in your name, nor see any of your personal or confidential messages. We will not get access to any of your inboxes. It’s an action required to enhance your monitoring experience.

After you click on Keep tracking Twitter, a window will open (pictured below) where you need to enter your email and password of your Twitter account. By clicking on Authorise app your Twitter account will connect to your Mediatoolkit account.

After the Twitter integration is complete, you will see the green connected account message next to your Twitter name account.

You can disconnect your Twitter account at any moment by clicking on Revoke access. It’s important that you know that after you remove your Twitter account, Mediatoolkit won’t be able to monitor posts from Twitter for your queries.

Instagram integration

To track Instagram mentions, you’ll need to connect your Business Instagram account with your Mediatoolkit account.

Keep in mind that your Instagram Business account needs to be connected to your Facebook page.

  • As is the case with Twitter integration, this will not let us post anything in your name, nor see any of your personal or confidential messages. It’s an action required to enhance your monitoring experience.

By connecting your Instagram Business Account with your Mediatoolkit account, you’ll be able to track Instagram mentions from other Instagram Business profiles and 30 hashtags of your choosing.

Both need to be manually set by you in the tool.

Requirements

  • You need to have an Instagram Business/Creator account that you can connect to your Mediatoolkit account. If you don’t have that type of account, follow the instructions on this link to change your account type.

  • Also, your Instagram Business account should be connected to your Facebook page. If you don’t have a Facebook page, follow the instructions for creating one here. If you do have a Facebook page, you can connect it with your Instagram account by following these instructions.

If you already did all of the steps mentioned above, you can go ahead and connect your Instagram account to your Mediatoolkit account.

You can do that by clicking on Settings and then on Integrations.

At the bottom, you’ll see Instagram and the option to Connect with Facebook. When you click on Connect with Facebook, a Facebook pop-up will appear with further steps.

How to track Instagram business profiles?

If you want to track specific business profiles, you will be able to add them while you’re setting up or editing queries.

Under the Sources section, click on Instagram and Specific profiles. Add the entire Instagram handle of a business profile you wish to track. You don’t have to use @ while typing the handle.

  • If you’re collaborating with an influencer who does not have a Business profile, make sure to ask them to switch their profile to Business so you can track it.

How to track Instagram hashtags?

You can add hashtags you wish to track in the Integrations section.

Keep in mind that when you add hashtags, you won’t be able to change them in the next seven days. Because of this, it is important to add only relevant hashtags in order not to cross the limit.

After you’ve successfully connected your Instagram to Mediatoolkit, you will be able to enter 30 hashtags you want to track in your organization.
